BIG NIGHTS are held at the Royal Canadian Legion hall, NDG, 5455 de Maisonneuve West (Corner Addington). A short walk from métro Vendôme. (NB please do not phone the Legion for information!)

There is a bar selling beers, wines and spirits at very reasonable prices. Smoking is permitted in one section of the bar (not the dance floor). The air should prove tolerable to all but the most highly sensitive nonsmokers. Nobody in the band smokes!

To get there by métro. Get off at Vendôme on the orange line. As you leave the station, turn left to walk west on De Maisonneuve. At the second traffic light (Décarie Boulevard), do not go straight on under the railway bridge, but fork right. That little cowpath is in fact the continuation of majestic De Maisonneuve Street. You will cross over Highway 15: the Legion is the first building on the right immediately after the bridge (on the corner of Addington, the "service road").

By car from downtown. Take Sherbrooke St West. Go straight on at the intersection with Décarie Boulevard and continue over the bridge across Highway 15 (Décarie Expressway). Immediately after the 15, turn left onto Addington (before you get to Girouard) and go down to the end. The Legion is the last building on your right.

From the south shore. Take the Champlain Bridge and continue as if you were heading north on the 15 towards St-Jérôme. Take the Sherbrooke St exit. Immediately before the traffic light at the top of the exit ramp, turn left (don't get onto Sherbrooke St) which takes you on a kind of U-turn. You are on Addington. Go down to the end. The Legion is the last building on your right.

From the north. Take the 15 south and exit at Sherbrooke St. At the traffic light at the foot of the exit ramp, go straight on across Sherbrooke St. You are on Addington. Go down to the end. The Legion is the last building on your right.

From the west - three options.

1. Come in on Highway 40 and go south on Highway 15 (Décarie Expressway). For the rest, see directions from the north.
2. Come in on Highway 20 and take the exit for Highway 15 North. You will merge from the left. Immediately after the merge, take your life in your hands and cross all three lanes to take the Sherbrooke St exit on the right. Immediately before the traffic light at the top of the exit ramp, turn left (don't get onto Sherbrooke St) which takes you on a kind of U-turn. You are on Addington. Go down to the end. The Legion is the last building on your right.
3. From Montreal-West or NDG, head east on Sherbrooke St. Cross Girouard and then take the next right onto Addington. Go down to the end. The Legion is the last building on your right.
